China's MII (Ministry of Information Industry) has been officially renamed MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) on June 29, Beijing Times reported. According to the report, concurrent with the launching ceremony, the former MII website was replaced and is now redirected to miit.gov.cn. It is further reported that MIIT will command a total of 24 bureaus and employ a personnel of about 600, rebutting previous rumors which put the number at 800 to 1,000, China Business News reported on June 30.
